New Delhi, June 6: A large gathering of students, young professionals, and activists assembled at Jantar Mantar on Saturday as a youth-driven campaign called for greater accountability over alleged irregularities in various competitive examinations and recruitment tests.
The demonstration, organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), took place amid heightened security arrangements across the national capital. Participants raised concerns regarding examination and recruitment processes and demanded action from the authorities.
Addressing supporters, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the movement would continue its campaign despite challenges faced on social media platforms. He alleged that efforts had been made to suppress the group’s online outreach but maintained that public support for the cause was growing.
Dipke described the campaign as a long-term struggle and urged participants to remain committed to their demands through peaceful and democratic means. He also acknowledged support from social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had expressed solidarity with the movement.
The gathering witnessed the participation of hundreds of young people, including school and college students as well as working professionals. Many demonstrators carried flowers and symbolic props while raising slogans related to transparency and accountability in examinations.
Organisers repeatedly appealed to participants to maintain discipline and ensure that the protest remained non-violent. Supporters were encouraged to interact respectfully with law enforcement personnel deployed at the venue.
The movement has focused on concerns surrounding several examinations and recruitment processes, including entrance tests and government recruitment exams. Participants called for stronger safeguards to ensure fairness and transparency.
Meanwhile, authorities maintained a significant security presence in and around central Delhi. Additional police personnel were deployed at key locations, including transportation hubs and sensitive areas, as a precautionary measure to ensure public order during the demonstration.
Officials said security arrangements remained in place throughout the day while the protest proceeded peacefully under police supervision.
