Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called for collective efforts to build a developed, prosperous, self-reliant and technologically advanced India, while extending greetings to personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and their families on the force’s 65th Raising Day.
Paying tribute to eminent litterateur Dr Rahi Masoom Raza on his birth centenary, Sinha highlighted the writer’s contribution to Indian literature and cinema, describing his writings as a reflection of the cultural ethos of Ghazipur, Purvanchal and India, with a universal message rooted in humanity and harmony.
In a message delivered at a commemorative programme organised in Ghazipur, the Lieutenant Governor said Raza’s literary works, including Aadha Gaon, Topi Shukla and Katra Bi Arzoo, as well as his contribution to the screenplay of the television serial Mahabharat, conveyed the idea that India’s culture, heritage and future belonged to every citizen.
Emphasising the contemporary relevance of Raza’s message, Sinha said the country’s unity was anchored in constitutional ideals, shared traditions, brotherhood and common aspirations. He urged people to strengthen social trust through dialogue, cooperation and compassion, while treating India’s diversity as a source of collective strength.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon young people to remain connected to their roots while pursuing ambitious goals. He said the youth must turn opportunities into new possibilities through innovation, hard work and dedication, ensuring that development and heritage move forward together.
Referring to India’s development trajectory, Sinha said the country had made significant progress in infrastructure, digital connectivity, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, housing, sanitation and access to essential services. He said the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 required the active participation of every citizen and accelerated development across all regions.
“Today, India is demonstrating its capability in many fields, from space to digital public infrastructure, and the world sees our country as a reliable partner,” Sinha said, calling for a collective resolve to build a strong, prosperous and technologically advanced nation.
In a separate message marking the ITBP’s 65th Raising Day, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the force’s personnel for their courage, dedication and professionalism in guarding the country’s frontiers under challenging conditions.
He acknowledged their sustained vigil along sensitive border stretches, particularly in high-altitude areas where extreme weather and difficult terrain pose significant operational challenges.
Sinha paid tribute to ITBP personnel for their contribution to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and extended his best wishes to all ranks of the force and their families, recognising their sacrifices and service to the nation.
The ITBP, a Central Armed Police Force responsible for guarding the India-China border, is observing its 65th Raising Day on October 24.
