Jammu: The Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration attempt with the arrest of three terrorists along with a huge consignment of arms and narcotics along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. A defence spokesman said the terrorists, who were also in possession of a 10 kg powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED), were arrested after an exchange of fire near the border fence when they were attempting to sneak into this side. An Army personnel and one of the terrorists were injured in the firing.

'Thursday, June 1, 2023': New Delhi, Jun 1: Security was tightened at Delhi's border points on Thursday in view of a call for nationwide demonstrations given by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) in support of wrestlers protesting against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Security personnel are maintaining strict vigil at the border points and extra pickets have been put up to prevent any untoward incident, Delhi Police officials said. "Security has been tightened, extra police personnel have been deployed and we have also set up extra pickets at Delhi's borders. We want to ensure that law and order is maintained and no untoward incident takes place. This has been done as a precautionary measure," a senior police officer said.
'Thursday, June 1, 2023': Srinagar, June 01: Intermittent rains continued unabated in Jammu and Kashmir even as weather office forecasted wet weather to continue till weekend. Quoting a meteorological department official, news agencies reported said that intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning was “very likely” expected at many places during next 24 hours. On June 2, he said, intermittent light to moderate rain and thunder and lightning was expected at many places. “There is possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds at few places.” On June 3, he said, rain and thunderstorm was expected at isolated to scattered places towards late afternoon and evening.

Preparations are being made on bringing investment proposals of Rs 50,000 to 60,000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir during the budget announcement next year.
