MAY 6: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) took Pakistan to task at the Closed-door consultation over tensions with India following the Pahalgam bloodshed.
UNSC functionaries blast Islamabad over Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba’s involvement in last month’s Pahalgam carnage wherein 26 innocent people were killed.
Islamabad tried to internationalise the situation but fell flat as the members of UNSC pitched Pakistan’s nuclear rhetoric as alarming factor.
The UN members raised concerns over Pakistan’s recent missile tests.
In the course of talks that lasted for over an hour, the UNSC members severely reprimanded the dastardly terror attack and need for accountability. Additionally, they pitched tourists were targeted in Pahalgam based on their religion.
UNSC rejected Pakistan’s “false flag” narrative on Pahalgam.
Notably, the other members of the United Nations Security Council include:
Permanent Members – China, France, Russia, UK, and the US.
Non-permanent Members – Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, Panama, South Korea, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, and Somalia.
