Srinagar, June 21: Jammu and Kashmir Minister Sakina Itoo said the government was ready for any inquiry into outsourcing-related issues, while accusing previous administrations of introducing the system that is now being criticised by opposition parties.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the International Yoga Day event at SKICC here, Itoo said the Omar Abdullah-led government was committed to ensuring employment opportunities through transparent and fair recruitment processes.
She said the present administration had repeatedly conveyed to the Union government that instead of outsourcing arrangements, funds should be provided for creating regular posts so that young people could secure jobs through established recruitment procedures.
“The outsourcing system was not created by this government. Those raising objections today are the very people who brought this mechanism into existence,” Itoo said.
The minister alleged that some political parties were trying to create confusion among unemployed youth and urged them not to politicise employment issues. She also referred to alleged irregularities during previous governments, saying those responsible for past controversies had little ground to question the present administration.
“We have nothing to hide and are not afraid of any investigation. If anyone wants an inquiry, they are free to seek one. But people should not be misled for political reasons,” she added.
