Jammu, Sep 18: A separate system has been set up under the Jammu and Kashmir Cyber Coordination Centre (JK4C) and JK1C to deal with cybercrime cases and speed up complaints from victims, SSP Crime Yaseen Kichloo said on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, Kichloo said the system will provide faster response and support to cybercrime victims through dedicated wings, including Cyber Investigation, Cyber Operations and Online Crimes Against Children and Women (OCWC).
Victims can report cyber fraud or other online crimes through the 1930 helpline or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
He said quick reporting of financial fraud can help police and banks freeze suspicious funds before they are transferred further.
Officials said banks are also using AI-based tools to detect suspicious transactions. In serious cases, an FIR will be registered and legal action will follow.
A separate mechanism has also been set up to assist women and children facing online crimes.
