Jammu, Nov. 07: Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu has arrested an absconder namely Fayaz Ahmed Bhat S/o Ghulam Hassan Bhat R/o Chadoora, Budgam involved in case FIR No. 110/2023 U/S 419, 420, 120-B IPC.
In 2023, an FIR was registered on the written complaint received from one Javaid Iqbal of Poonch, a charge sheet was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Poonch against the said accused on dated 28.10.2025. He cheated the complainant for an amount of Rs. 4,20,000/- on the pretext of providing Govt. Job as
Panchayat Accountant through JKSSRB.
He was absconding since last 03 months. During the course of investigation it came to fore that, earlier two separate cases
were registered against the accused Fayaz Ahmed Bhat viz FIR No. 22/2022 U/S 420, 120-B IPC R/W section 5(2) PC Act P/S Crime Branch Jammu which was challaned before the Hon’ble Court of Addl. District & Session Judge Rajouri on 02/11/2023 and FIR No. 33/2022 U/S 420 IPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu which is under investigation.
To apprehend the absconder, a special team was constituted by Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu led by DySP (IO) Aakash Kohli alongwith HC Roop Lal and HC Girdhari Lal.
The team had been tracking the accused for the past three months and finally succeeded in arresting him from Jammu.
The arrested accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge, Poonch today and has been remanded to judicial custody.
