Jammu: A major theft has been reported from a car accessories shop in the bustling Dogra Chowk area of Jammu. The thieves targeted the shop during the night, taking advantage of a six-hour power cut. They broke the locks and shutters, making away with premium-quality speakers, sound systems, and other valuable items.
According to the shop owner, the estimated loss includes ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 in cash, along with high-end Android systems and sound equipment. The shop was found ransacked early in the morning when the owner arrived and noticed the broken locks and scattered items inside.
“We received a call in the morning. When we arrived and opened the shop, we saw that the locks were broken, and the premium speakers and systems were missing,” said the shop owner.
This incident has raised concerns about the security situation in the area, especially since a similar theft was reported recently at a nearby medical shop.
The police have been informed, and an investigation is underway to identify the culprits and recover the stolen goods.
