JAMMU, Aug 8: In a heartfelt gesture to honour the selfless service of the police personnel, Vice President BJP J&K Rekha Mahajan along with Mahila leaders, visited Police Station Trikuta Nagar to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan with the police personnel in a programme coordinated by Mahila Mircha District President Divya Jain.
Women activists tied Rakhis on the wrists of police officers as a symbol of gratitude, protection, and familial bonding.
SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma, SHO Trikuta Nagar Rajesh Jasrotia, Sheezan Bhat, Bal Kumar, Mohinder and several police officials were present on the occasion.
The warm and emotional atmosphere was further enriched by a Rakhi-making competition, organised at the police station for students, adding a touch of creativity and community involvement to the celebration.
Rekha Mahajan, while interacting with the police personnel, expressed her heartfelt wishes and said, “We want our brave security personnel to feel that they are not alone. We are always with them, especially on festivals like Raksha Bandhan when they are unable to be with their families. Their sacrifice and duty towards the nation is beyond words.”
Rekha Mahajan said, “Our police personnel are the true Rakshaks of society. While we celebrate this sacred festival with our families, these brave men stand on duty, away from their loved ones, ensuring our safety. Their sacrifice, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the nation deserve not just our respect, but our heartfelt gratitude. Tying a Rakhi to them is a symbolic gesture to honour their selfless service and to remind them that the nation stands with them – always.”
Divya Mahajan said, “The tradition of Raksha Sutra has now transcended family boundaries and become a symbol of respect for those who protect us.”
SP Jammu South, Ajay Sharma, extended heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and appreciated the noble gesture of BJP Mahila Morcha members for tying rakhis to the policemen.
He said, “This act of affection from the sisters of our society boosts the morale of our police personnel who serve selflessly, often staying away from their families during festivals. Such community bonding reinforces mutual respect and strengthens the relationship between police and the public. We are committed to maintaining peace and security and are deeply touched by this emotional expression of solidarity and gratitude.”
The celebration not only strengthened the bond between the community and the security forces but also served as a reminder of the undying spirit of unity, tradition, and respect for those who serve the nation selflessly.
