MARCH 15: Several MLAs of BJP outrightly demanded rehabilitation of as many as 39 shopkeepers of Nai Basti who business is affected by construction of flyover from Kunjwani to Satwari.
BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa highlighted this issue on Saturday in Budget Session of Legislative Assembly. He was immediately espoused by MLA Narinder Singh and later by all BJP MLAs.
Randhawa apprised that the Government has given notices to the 39 Shopkeepers to vacate their commercial establishment despite the assurances that they will be provided alternative land in this regard.
“This is their genuine need. These shopkeepers have been engaging in business at this place since several years,” said Randhawa.
Outside the Assembly, Randhawa told reporters that the shopkeepers are on roads and if the Government does not listen to their concerns, we will join them in protest.
