Jammu: The Chief Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, Atal Dulloo visited newly established industrial units under the New Industrial Policy for assessing progress and challenges. The visit was carried out to assess firsthand and discuss the issues from the key stakeholders that include the Industries Department, Development Department, and District Administration.

In interactions with industrialists, Chief Secretary Dulloo went through the issues being faced by newly set up units and examined possible solutions. “Industrial growth is moving along steadily, and we are witnessing a huge thrust every day,” he said. The Government of India had announced an earlier ₹28,400 crore package for Jammu & Kashmir, and these industrial units are being developed under that. The administration of J&K is offering full support in terms of land, power, and other clearances for the growth of industries.
A rising number of industrial units being set up has led to increased prospects of employment in the region. The government has also been appealed by industrialists to enhance the existing incentive package, that is going to be worth ₹28,400 crore, as several units have already entered into the scheme. “The incentives are very attractive and it’s attracting multiple industries to the region. Talks are currently underway with the central government in order to enhanced the package suited for the demand,” said Dulloo.
The favorable law-and-order situation, along with strong government cooperation, has made Jammu & Kashmir an appealing destination for investors. A structured plan is also being developed to augment power supply specifically for industrial units, ensuring uninterrupted electricity to support industrial expansion.
On the environmental front, the Chief Secretary assured that all industries would operate within the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act. “We are committed to ensuring that all industrial development aligns with environmental regulations,” he emphasized.
With continuous investor interest and government support, Jammu & Kashmir is emerging as a promising hub for industrial growth, creating new opportunities and contributing to the economic development of the region.
