JUNE 17: Several parks that were closed following the Pahalgam attack on April 22 were reopened on Tuesday.
Scores of tourists and locals thronged the parks and were thrilled to witness the ambiance.
Heavy security deployment was to ensure any untoward activity in the parks.
Pertinent to mention that 26 people were gunned down by the terrorists on April 22 in Pahalgam attack.
LG Manoj Sinha has directed the reopening of 16 parks 8 each in Jammu and Kashmir region.
It is learnt that Betaab Valley in Pahalgam and the parks near Pahalgam market, Verinag, Kokernag and Achabal gardens in Anantnag district, Badamwari Park, Duck Park near Nigeen, and Taqdeer Park near Hazratbal in Srinagar were reopened in Kashmir, similarly, Sarthal and Dhaggar in Kathua, Devipindi, Siyad Baba and Sula Park in Reasi, Guldanda and Jai Valley in Doda, and Pancheri in Udhampur were reopened in Jammu Division.
Students welcomed the tourists with rousing reception on Tuesday with the reopening of Parks.
