Srinagar, November 4: Senior National Conference leader and Eidgah MLA Haji Mubarak Gul on Wednesday postponed his scheduled press conference, citing the prevailing political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and consultations with his colleagues and supporters.
Speaking to reporters, Gul said he had decided to defer the press conference while respecting the feelings of his supporters, who have stood by him for nearly five decades.
“Considering the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir, discussions with my colleagues and the sentiments of my workers, who have supported me since 1975, I have decided to postpone today’s press conference. I will not make any statement today,” he said.
Gul said he did not wish to comment on the matter at this stage and would take further steps after consulting his colleagues and well-wishers.
He added that he had nothing more to say at present and thanked those who had come to meet him.
Describing himself as a fighter, Gul said he would continue his struggle.
