JAMMU, Jul 1: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced summer vacation for all Government and recognised private schools, including Higher Secondary Schools, located in the Winter Zone of Jammu Division.
According to an official order issued on July 1, the summer break will be observed from July 6 to July 19, 2026. Schools are scheduled to reopen on July 20 (Monday), unless fresh directions are issued by the School Education Department.
The order states that the decision has been taken with the approval of the competent authority in view of the prevailing summer conditions. During the vacation period, all educational institutions covered under the order will remain closed for academic activities.
Issued under Order No. 226-DSEJ of 2026, the notification has been circulated to the Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners, Chief Education Officers, Joint Directors, SCERT Jammu and other concerned officials for information and necessary action.
The Directorate has also forwarded the order to the Information Department for wider public awareness and to its Computer Section for uploading on the official website.
