JULY 4: With a search operation to hunt down the hiding terrorists in forest belt of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir entering the third day, heavy deployment of forces along with cordon strengthening has been ensured.
As per the official reports, the search operation was launched following the encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kanzal Mandu area of the Kuchal-Chatroo belt on July 2.
It is learnt that the encounter raged when a team of security forces underpining Police, Army and CRPF, launched a cordon and search operation in Kuchal around 7:45 pm following the tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Notably, the cordon has been reinforced and search been expanded in Chatroo forest to hunt down the hiding JeM terrorists in the area.
Amid high vigilance, cutting-edge monitoring system, helicopters, advanced drones and sniffer dogs have been pressed into action, besides, the additional deployment of forces to neutralize the terrorists.
In the recent times, on June 26, a terrorist of the Pakistan-based JeM outfit was gunned down in a gunfight with the security forces while three of his accomplices managed to flee into the forested area of the Basantgarh in Udhampur district.
