AUG 22: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday carried out searches at multiple locations in Jammu Division against the revenue officials in connection with the Custodian Land Scam.
It is learnt that sleuths of ED raided nine locations in Jammu and one in Udhampur under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Locations searched were of Patwari rank officials named Pranav Dev Singh and Rahul Kai and Naib Tehsildar Akeel Ahmed along with some others are being covered in a case related to land grabbing and corruption inclined to Custodian Land Scam.
The money laundering case have its origins from an FIR registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and is flagged with irregularities in land dealings involving Government officials.
Pertinent to mention, the custodian land in Jammu has remained under scrutiny for years, amid compliaints pertaining to bogus claims, fraudulence, encroachments, abuse of power in nexus with private players.
The recent crackdown by Enforcement Directorate is witnessed as action on corruption associated with state land in the region.
