DEC 3: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over a first Cabinet Meeting after restoration of Darbar Move in Jammu, giving a goahead to arrey of departmental proposals, including promotions in Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department and the establishment of the Animal Protection Board.
The meeting was held at Chief Minister’s Jammu residence and held threadbare deliberations pertaining to multiple administrative matters in connection with governance and development.
Besides, issues concerning electricity, reservation and winter preparedness also came to fore during the deliberations.
It is learnt that a proposal regarding the promotion and service-related matters of officer cadres in the R&B Department was given green signal after detailed discussion.
Following the Cabinet Meeting, CM Omar Abdullah said, “Discussions were held on 22 agendas in Cabinet Meeting, and reservation was one of them. We have made attempt to rationalise things in the reservation process and adopted transparent process in this regard.”
Cabinet Minister Javed Rana addressed the press and said following the meeting that several agendas were given consent from CM and stressed upon expediting the other administrative matters.
Minister Rana emphasized that the issue of daily wagers across departments was also point of discussion and setting up of Animal Protection Board to streamline livestock-related regulations.
