Srinagar,May 20: The Central University of Kashmir has decided to conduct online classes and allow employees to work from home on Fridays and selected Saturdays from May 22 onwards.
The university said the step has been taken to cut down expenses and keep academic work running smoothly. Teaching and non-teaching staff will follow the new schedule until further notice.
To avoid any disturbance in studies, practical and lab sessions planned for Fridays will now be held on Thursday afternoons.
The administration has also advised departments to organise meetings, workshops and PhD viva exams online wherever possible. Offline events will only be allowed after official approval.
