JAMMU, May 8: Amidst the continued cross-border shelling by Pakistan, senior BJP leaders paid a visit to the refugee camps established for residents of border areas forced to migrate for safety. The camps, set up at Degree College Mishriwala and Radha Swami Ashram in Kangrail, are currently sheltering people from villages like Garhkhaal and Pargwal, which have been heavily targeted.
Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), Sham Lal Sharma, Vice-President, J&K BJP & MLA, Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor, Suraj Singh, DDC Vice-Chairperson, accompanied by many other senior leaders of BJP and government officials visited the Refugee Camps
Addressing the media and residents at the camp, Sat Sharma expressed deep concern over the targeting of civilians by Pakistan.
“As decisive retaliation to the brutal massacre of tourists in Pahalgam India effectively busted terrorists’ locations. In frustration, Pakistan has resorted to cowardly shelling of civilian areas. In this hour of crisis, our priority is the safety and well-being of our citizens”, said Sat Sharma.
Sharma said that approximately 300 individuals from around 70 families had been relocated to temporary shelters to protect them from the ongoing threat. He also called upon BJP workers to actively participate in relief and rescue operations, reaffirming the party’s commitment to stand with the people during difficult times.
Sunil Sharma echoed these sentiments and appealed to the administration to provide the best possible amenities to ease the hardships of the displaced. He underlined the need for maintaining consistent and adequate supplies like baby milk, medicines and other essentials as well as sanitary conditions in the camps.
Jugal Kishore Sharma commended the Indian armed forces for their effective response to the terrorist activities. “Under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our forces have shown the world the strength and resolve of Bharat. The dismantling of terrorist infrastructure is a clear message to those who threaten our peace,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ravinder Raina, senior BJP leader visited Bajabai Camp and Kangri Camp in Nowshera Assembly Constituency and met the people shifted from LoC Meenaka Nahadev and Kalai Dubara (Seri) to these Camps and took stock of the arrangements made in these camps.
