OCT 18: With Pahalgam incident casting a shadow on Kashmir tourism, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Saturday, has urged people to visit the valley, citing that the administration has geared up for the Winter Season with all arrangements to promote tourism at prominent destinations.
While speaking to reporters in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, Anshul Garg said, “Winters are not new to Kashmir, as they come annually, the administration keeps improving its arrangements.”
Garg also added that the Chief Secretary has issued specific directions regarding Winter arrangements and that divisional and district administrations are at the forefront of conducting regular field visits to review arrangements. From control rooms to snow clearance and other facilities, all is in sync.”
The Divisional Commissioner said the Government is on the verge of commencing Winter Tourism this season.
“In this regard, we invite all tourists to visit the valley. Elaborate arrangements have been ensured at all prominent destinations, and we warmly welcome every visitor to Kashmir,” he said.
Anshul Garg further added the administration has also activated helplines and real-time technology for the snow clearance to ensure hassle-free travel for tourists.
