BJP committed to true women empowerment through policy, participation, leadership: Sat Sharma

Jammu, 27 October: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma (CA), addressed a meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha, which was led by its President Adv. Neha Mahajan at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Shailja Gupta, Urvashi Gupta, Neena Gupta, Prerna Nanda, Neeru Anand, Santosh Sharma, Poonam Gupta, Geetanjali Mahajan, Anita Gandotra, Chakshu Kapoor, Asha Sharma, Saroj Manhas, Aarti Koul, Sneh Lata, Anuradha Sharma, Malti Sharma, Krishan Priya, and others were among the prominent present in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma said that the BJP represents “women empowerment in its truest sense,” not merely as a slogan but as a sustained mission through its policies, programs, and political representation. He emphasized that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, passed in 2023, is a historic step ensuring one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive governance and equal opportunity.
Sharma said that under the Modi Government, several flagship schemes have transformed the lives of women across the country and particularly in Jammu & Kashmir. He highlighted how the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has provided free LPG connections to rural women, the Jal Jeevan Mission has eased the burden of water collection, and the Swachh Bharat Mission has ensured dignity and safety through the construction of toilets.
He further mentioned that economic empowerment has reached new heights with Mudra Yojana, under which 68% of loans have gone to women, and the Lakhpati Didi initiative has helped over 1.48 crore women earn sustainable incomes. The Union Budget 2025-26 further strengthened this mission by introducing special loan schemes for women entrepreneurs up to ₹2 crore.
Mahila Morcha President Adv. Neha Mahajan expressed gratitude to the leadership and reaffirmed her commitment to “doing the best possible work for women empowerment, ensuring that every woman in J&K becomes self-reliant, confident, and aware of her rights.”
The senior women leaders articulated the BJP’s unwavering stand for clean politics, inclusive governance, and women-led development. From Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to Mission Shakti, from education to digital safety, BJP continues to ensure that Nari Shakti remains at the centre of India’s growth story.
