Seek high level enquiry into administrative lapses ,mega relief package

HM visit was casual, Rs. 209 Cr package was a cruel joke

PM visits Jammu only during elections campaign

Kathua/ Ramgarh , Sept 9- Reiterating the demand for a mega relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction package to J&K, JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra today raised questions into administrative lapses in taking timely measures to reinforce embankments into erosions, illegal mining & other factors adding to the huge losses and demanded a high level enquiry aided by experts to look into the reasons.

JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra alongwith WP Raman Bhalla, Ch Lal Singh, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Ex MLA Balbir Singh, Ex Minister Yash Pal Kundal, Indu Pawar Ex MLA, DCC President Kathua Pankaj Dogra, Ch Hussain Ali Wafa, Durga Dutt Ex MLA, T S Tony, Dist President Samba Sanjeev Sharma, Babbal Gupta Sanjeev Panda, Rajveer Singh,Vijyant Pathania & ors on tour of Kalibadi, Kathua, Lakhanpur & samva, vijaypur, Ramgarh area of Samba to assess huge losses due to floods to the private property, crops, houses and public infrastructure.

The Congress team assessed the collapse of portion of Bridge Kalibadi & shamshan ghat, government buildings and noticed the lack of timely embankments which contributed to the cause of damages. They also visited Magar Khad and saw the damage at Lakhanpur , where local leaders revealed that a timely action to open flood gates could have saved the damage to infrastructure.
Later JKPCC Chief visited Ramgarh area of Samba district and assessed the loss.

Taking to reporters, Shri Karra said that no doubt that it was a natural calamity of huge magnitude but the GOI has not declared it a national disaster and reiterated the party demand for it.

He said that home minister’s visit was very casual and didn’t taje stock of huge damage The 209 cr package is a joke with people of J&K and demanded a mega relief package as per magnitude of losses.
He said that Congress has already demanded a high level probe into Vaishno Devi tragedy and Chasoti lapses besides a high level probe is needed to look to multiple administrative lapses adding to the magnitude of losses at different places.
He termed Home Minister Amit Shah visit to Jammu only casual, 209 cr package is a cruel joke with people and not justice to suffering people.

PCC Chief visited several remote villages in Ramgarh sector including Muthi Zharu, near zero line on IB border , Varota camp and other areas to meet the affected people whose lands washed away, crops damaged besides other losses.
Several local leaders of the party and prominent persons accompanied the team.
