JUNE 13: With Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra scheduled to commence on July 3, LG Manoj Sinha on Friday chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhawan to take stock of the arrangements.
It is learnt that the meeting was attended by senior officers of Army, paramilitary forces and Police, including Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V K Bidhuri.
LG Manoj Sinha was briefed about the steps taken for the smooth and hassle-free Amarnath Yatra. As per the reports, the emphasis was laid on the security aspects wherein robust communication channels, seamless coordination among forces and advance monitoring aspects were discussed.
Besides, enhancement of security infrastructure, personnel deployment and upgradation of surveillance tactics was stressed upon.
LG Manoj Sinha underscored the importance of intelligence-driven operations, threat assessment and proactive measures to mitigate the potential risks. He directed concerned officials to adopt SOP mechanism to combat the challenges effectively and swiftly.
Moreover, usage of cutting-edge technology and real-time monitoring system at vulnerable and high-traffic zones for the pilgrimage was given relevance.
