MARCH 27: Two terrorists were neutralized and five security personnel were injured in a fierce encounter that raged in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
A fierce gunfight raged following the terrorists were spotted near Jakhole village in Ghati Juthana area of Kathua.
On Sunday, security forces had spotted the terrorists around the area, in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district.
Following that the search operation was launched in the region which continued for four days. And on the fifth day encounter triggered intense firing and explosions.
As per the reports, the officials said that two terrorists were killed during the gunfight led by Special Operations Group (SOG) of the J&K Police and assisted by the Army, the BSF and CRPF.
Pertinent to mention, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, and IGP, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, have been keeping an eye on the anti-terrorist operation from Kathua since a few days.
