MARCH 26: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta emphasized the significance of the “One Nation, One Election” initiative, stating that simultaneous elections across the country will not only streamline governance but also save valuable public resources.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a program organized at Fruit Mandi, Narwal, Jammu, by the Vegetable and Fruit Mandi Association in collaboration with the BJP Trade and Industry Cell, JKUT.
Ved Sharma, State Co-Incharge of All Cells BJP JKUT was the guest of honor at the event. The program was meticulously organized by Surinder Singh, President of the Vegetable and Fruit Mandi Association, and Ankur Anand, General Secretary of the Association, with active participation from BJP leaders and prominent members of the trade fraternity, including Vishal Kohli, Anil Kumar, Jagdish Raj Gupta, and Ashwani Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that holding Lok Sabha, Assembly, and local body elections simultaneously will ensure political stability, reduce the burden on the exchequer, and allow governments to focus on development instead of being in election mode year-round.
The former Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that frequent elections lead to the model code of conduct being enforced multiple times, hampering governance and delaying crucial policy decisions.
Ved Sharma elaborated on the BJP’s vision behind the initiative, stating that the One Nation, One Election concept aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a progressive India, where governance is efficient, cost-effective, and people-centric. He urged all stakeholders, including business communities, traders, and industry leaders, to support this reform for the larger national interest.
The organizers, led by Surinder Singh and Ankur Anand, extended their gratitude to the dignitaries and reaffirmed their commitment to raising awareness about this landmark electoral reform. They expressed hope that the government would soon bring in the necessary constitutional amendments to make simultaneous elections a reality.
