OCT 13: With the Election Commission of India (ECI) issuing two seperate notifications for Nagrota and Budgam Assembly Constituencies, the nomination process both assembly segments commenced on Monday
It is learnt that as per the notifications issued by the ECI, the candidates can file their nomination papers by October 20 for Budgam and Nagrota.
The Election Commission announced that examination of nominations will take place on October 22 and the last date for candidature withdrawal is October 24.
The voting is slated for November 11, with counting will begin on November 14.
The Budgam seat got vacant on October 21, 2024 after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chose to retain Ganderbal constituency following his victory from both seats in 2024 Assembly Polls.
The Nagrota seat got empty owing to the demise of BJP MLA Devinder Singh Rana on October 31, 2024.
