Jammu, May 14: In a significant action against narcotics trafficking, Jammu Police on Wednesday detained two suspected drug dealers in the Gangyal area and seized heroin, cash, and other incriminating material from their possession.
Officials said the arrests were made by a team from Jammu Police during a routine checkpoint operation conducted under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gangyal.
During the search operation, police recovered approximately 30 grams of heroin, commonly known as “Chitta”, along with ₹68,000 in cash suspected to be linked to drug transactions. A digital weighing scale allegedly used in the distribution of narcotics was also seized from the accused.
The two individuals were immediately taken into custody, while all recovered items were confiscated following legal formalities.
A case has been registered under the provisions of the NDPS Act, and investigators have launched further inquiries to identify others connected to the alleged drug supply chain.
Police officials stated that the anti-narcotics campaign will continue across the Jammu region with intensified efforts aimed at curbing drug abuse and trafficking.
