JAMMU, JULY 29: Amid the rip-roaring chants of “Har Har Mahadev”, the fresh batch of 1,490 pilgrims left for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from Jammu.
It is learnt that this is 27th batch of 1,490 devotees departing from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu for holy shrine of Amarnath nestled in South Kashmir’s Himalayas.
As of now, more than 3.86 lakh pilgrims have offered prayers at the ‘ice lingum’ of Lord Shiva at the cave shrine since the yatra was flagged off by the LG Manoj Sinha on July 2, 2025.
Pertinently, the 27th batch including 1,262 men, 186 women, 42 sadhus and sadhvis have left for the twin base camps in Baltal in Ganderbal and Pahalgam in Anantnag district.
In the previous year, more than 5.10 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the Baba Barfani.
Besides, the holy pilgrimage is scheduled to culminate on August 9 coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival.
