Srinagar, September 4: An IndiGo aircraft operating on the Navi Mumbai–Srinagar route came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while it was being parked at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning.
According to Srinagar Airport Authority, flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG) reached Bay No. 06 and was being positioned for parking at around 9:02 am when the aircraft came into contact with the VDGS pole.
All passengers and crew members were reported safe, with no injuries in the incident. The passengers and crew were subsequently deboarded from the aircraft with the help of manual stairs.
The airport authority said the incident will be examined by the competent authorities in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
It added that the exact reason behind the incident would be established after the inquiry is completed and that no conclusion about the cause should be drawn at this stage.
Despite the incident, normal airport operations continued, with arrivals and departures being handled according to schedule.
