Srinagar, July 2: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet against four individuals accused of obtaining government jobs in the Health Department by submitting forged educational certificates.
According to a statement, the chargesheet in FIR No. 16/2014 has been filed before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
The accused have been identified as Shuja Jeelani of Channapora, Srinagar, Mohd Iqbal of Lal Nagar, Srinagar, Nisar Ahmad Wani of Malwari, Pulwama, and Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Midoora, Awantipora, Pulwama.
The case originated from a complaint alleging that the four accused had secured appointments to various posts in the Health Department after being selected by the Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) on the strength of fake educational credentials.
During the investigation, the Crime Branch verified the documents submitted by the accused and found that the certificates were forged and did not match the official records produced during the recruitment process. Following the verification, their appointments were cancelled.
Investigators concluded that the accused had fraudulently obtained government employment by using forged educational documents, thereby deceiving the recruiting authorities. After collecting sufficient evidence, the Economic Offences Wing filed the chargesheet before the court for further legal proceedings.
