MAY 8: Indian Army retaliated strongly to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan rangers across the Line of Control (LoC) J&K in the intervening night of May 7 and 8.
It is learnt that Indian Army has responded proportionately to the unprovoked small-arms and artillery guns firing by the Pakistani rangers across LoC in areas opposite in Kupwara, Baramulla districts and Uri and Akhnoor sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement of Indian Army said, “During the night of May 7-8, Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked fire using small arms and artillery guns across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri and Akhnoor areas in J&K. The Indian Army responded proportionately.”
This comes a day after Indian Forces launched “Operation Sindoor” in Pakistan and PoK targeting nine terror camps.
Pertinent to mention, the “Operation Sindoor” lasted for 25 minutes and resulted in death of over 70 terrorists.
