MARCH 27: As the festive season is around the corner in Kashmir valley, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi chaired a joint security review meeting at PCR Kashmir.
The meeting aimed to finalize security arrangements for the upcoming events in Kashmir. Senior contingents of J&K Police, intelligence agencies personnel and other security force personnel attended the meeting.
During the meeting, key emphasis was laid on reviewing security arrangements in view of the upcoming festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr, and event like the Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage.
Threadbare discussions were held pertaining to public security, ensuring law and order, and smooth conduction of the festive events.
Additionally, the meeting delved into critical aspects of preventing overcrowding, public safety and conducting events in uniform way. Ideal event coordination was also emphasized with deployment of troops at various points of the vally where the crowd footfall is maximum.
Also, officers were directed to be vigilant, carry out checks at sensitive areas, and enhance security patrols to curb the threats amid festive season.
