MARCH 25: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reiterated in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that a committee has been formed under the leadership of Chief Secretary to examine the issue of daily wagers.
As the opposition highlighted the issue of daily wagers, CM Omar Abdullah targeted MLA Sham Lal Sharma and said he will be confused what he has he done when he served as PHE Minister of NC Government in past.
This triggered huge row with opposition MLAs standing and thwarting CM Omar to speak in the House.
Amid interruptions, CM Omar Abdullah said that as Chief Minister of J&K, “I appeal all the daily wagers to call of strike.”
“If opposition does not trust Chief Secretary and other officers in the committee, I can’t do anything,” Omar said, adding, “I have full faith in my Chief secretary and other officers of the committee.”
“I appeal all the daily wagers who are on strike to call off strike… As soon as the work on the committee will begin, the daily wagers put their demands before the committee… Henceforth the recommendations of committee will be accepted,” CM Omar Abdullah said in Assembly.
