Ramban, April 7: Vehicular movement on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway has been suspended in both directions after a major landslide blocked the road between Digdol and Khooni Nallah, officials said on Monday.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police, the highway was closed as a precautionary measure following the heavy slide, which made the stretch unsafe for vehicular movement. The advisory was issued through an official post on the department’s social media platform.
Authorities have advised commuters not to undertake travel on the highway until the road is fully restored, cautioning that movement at this stage could pose serious risks to life and property.
Traffic Police officials also urged the public to refrain from believing rumours and to verify the status of the highway only through official Traffic Police platforms, including verified social media handles and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
