JAMMU, March 4: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that for recognition of Jammu Tourism there is need to enthral Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
CM Omar said this during the Second Day of Budget Session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.
He added that there is anxiety among the people regarding the tourism in Jammu City. Omar Abdullah said that there is fear in the mind of people that train will go from Katra to Srinagar and then to Baramulla devoid of any halt in Jammu.
Secondly, Omar emphasized via Delhi-Katra- Amritsar expressway there is ring road and it will bypass Jammu. For the tourism of Jammu there is not only need to create the destination like Jammu Gandola, Jambu Zoo, Mubarak Mandi heritage, however, it is necessary to give shape and facelift.
Omar Abdullah said, “People are not much aware of Patnitop, Bhaderwah hence in this regard pilgrims divert is pertinent.”
CM Omar stressed on the tourist circuits, pilgrim sites need to be ready and requisite publicity is mandatory.
