Srinagar, June 20: Amid growing debate over alleged irregularities in the Cardiology Department of GMC Anantnag, Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the government has already initiated an inquiry and suspended the doctor concerned pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Minister said the administration is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability in the healthcare sector and assured that no one found guilty would be spared. She emphasized that appropriate legal and departmental action would follow once the inquiry is completed.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo said it would be inappropriate to speculate on the allegations before the investigation concludes. “The inquiry is in progress and we are waiting for the report. The facts will become clear once the process is completed,” she said.
According to the Minister, the department acted soon after the allegations surfaced and ordered an investigation to examine all aspects of the case. She confirmed that the doctor at the centre of the controversy has been placed under suspension during the inquiry.
The allegations concerning the Cardiology Department have attracted widespread public attention, with many demanding a fair and transparent investigation. The Health and Medical Education Department has maintained that the matter is being examined thoroughly and that further steps will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
“Whoever is found responsible after the inquiry will face action as per law,” the Minister added.
