Jammu: A child sexual abuse case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act 2012, has been lodged at Police Station Janipur after a 15 year old girl was found pregnant at SMGS Hospital at Shalamar in district Jammu.
The girl, who is approximately 15 yrs of age, had visited SMGS hospital Shalamar for medical checkup. During the course of the medical examination conducted by doctors, it was found that the minor girl was pregnant prompting the hospital authorities to give information to the Police Control Room Jammu.
The police team from PCR Jammu took the girl to the Police Station Janipur as the girl was raped in Janipur area by a 17 year old boy.
Police have taken statements and visra of the girl to send the same to the Forensic Laboratory for further investigation.
Police have registered a case vide FIR No 120/2025 u/s 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act at Police Station Janipur, Jammu.
