NOV 6: Balbir Ram Rattan, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Spokesperson and former Vice Chairman, lauded the outstanding success of the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0, calling it a transformative initiative that is revolutionizing the pension verification process for India’s senior citizens through Face Authentication technology.
He said that the campaign marks a significant leap toward realizing the vision of a digitally empowered and inclusive India, bringing ease, dignity, and accessibility to millions of pensioners across the country.
Balbir highlighted that the DLC Campaign 4.0, launched by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union MoS in Prime Minister’ s Office and spearheaded by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, enables pensioners to submit their annual life certificates, popularly known as “Jeevan Pramaan”, digitally, without the need to visit banks or government offices. Through the use of advanced facial recognition technology, senior citizens can now verify their identities conveniently from their homes using just a smartphone or computer.
“This initiative perfectly demonstrates how digital transformation can directly enhance the ease of living, especially for our senior citizens,” said Balbir Ram Rattan. He said that the technology should serve humanity, and the success of this campaign proves that digital inclusion is no longer an aspiration but it is a reality unfolding across the nation now.
He further pointed out that the remarkable results of DLC Campaign 4.0 underscore its deep impact and growing acceptance among elderly citizens as more than 85,000 pensioners above the age of 90 and over 2,200 centenarian pensioners have successfully submitted their life certificates using the digital platform till now. These figures reflect not only the campaign’s effectiveness but also the growing confidence of India’s senior citizens in adopting modern digital tools.
Balbir emphasized that by leveraging facial recognition technology, the DLC system has streamlined administrative processes, eliminated unnecessary delays and paperwork, and most importantly, reduced the hardships faced by senior citizens, particularly those with limited mobility or residing in remote regions. The system ensures both security and transparency, delivering a seamless experience to pensioners nationwide.
Balbir stated that initiatives like the DLC Campaign 4.0 are in perfect alignment with the broader vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India Mission, which aims to create governance that is efficient, inclusive, and citizen-centric.
The success of the Face Authentication system stands as a proud testament to how innovation, when guided by empathy, can bring real transformation to people’s lives, Balbir Ram Rattan affirmed.
