JULY 22: DGP Nalin Prabhat along with other Senior Police and Army Officers made a visit to the border district of Poonch, undertaking a comprehensive review of security arrangements in anticipation of the upcoming Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra.
Accompanied by senior police officers, the DGP inspected base camp of yatra and chaired a high-level security review meeting for upcomming buddha Amarnath Yatra with senior police and Army officers in the meeting Bhim Sen Tuti IGP Jammu, SJM Jellani ADGP Vijay Madhawani GOC Romeo Force, district SSP, CRPF, BSF,Army and intelligence officials were present. Prabhat emphasized real-time coordination, unified command, and the use of drone surveillance for both crowd management and early threat detection He prioritized deployment of CCTV cameras, installation of checkpoints, and integration of security agencies for crowd control and to providing security to Pilgrims.
In the meetings, the DGP lauded the multi-layered, inter-agency approach and stressed the necessity of high-altitude patrolling, district intelligence grids, and quick response protocols to ensure a secure pilgrimage experience
Proactive steps such as establishing no-fly zones near shrines, Base camp of yatra restricting drone flights, and deploying more CRPF companies alongside were discussed.
