Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval for the development of a new Industrial Estate at Barsoo in Ganderbal district at an estimated cost of ₹17.24 crore, with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah saying the project will strengthen industrial infrastructure and create employment opportunities for local youth.
The proposed estate is expected to provide modern infrastructure and essential facilities to entrepreneurs, facilitate industrial investment and support the growth of businesses in the region.
Omar said the project marked a step towards expanding industrial infrastructure and creating fresh opportunities for young people in Jammu and Kashmir.
The government expects the estate to attract investors and encourage entrepreneurship while contributing to sustainable industrial growth and the region’s economic development.
The project is part of efforts to strengthen industrial facilities and expand employment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir. However, the actual impact on investment and jobs will depend on the estate’s development, allotment of industrial plots and the establishment of units.
