MARCH 18: Indian Air Force authorities airlifted a total of 576 passangers from Srinagar, Jammu and Leh on Tuesday.
It is learnt that as many as 576 passengers were airlifted amidst the closure of strategic Srinagar-Ladakh Highway owing to snowfall.
Director Disaster Management Jammu and Kashmir Amir Ali apprised that the IL-76 airlifted 455 passengers from Srinagar and Jammu to Leh in two sorties. He said AN-32 Kargil Courier airlifted 71 passengers underpining 53 passengers from Srinagar to Kargil and 18 passengers from Kargil to Srinagar.
The passengers who availed of the service expressed their gratitude to Ladakh authorities.
