Jammu, April 8: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the termination of two employees of the Jammu and Kashmir administration after security agencies reported their suspected links with militant organisations, officials said on Wednesday. The decision is part of ongoing efforts by the administration to act against individuals allegedly involved in activities that threaten public order and security.
Sources said the dismissed employees have been identified as Farhat Ali Khanday, a Class IV worker in the Education Department, and Mohammad Shafi Dar, who was serving as a Class IV employee in the Rural Development Department. The action was reportedly taken following a review of intelligence inputs and security assessments.
Officials further stated that Khanday was allegedly associated with the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, while Dar was suspected of working as an associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Authorities said the dismissals were carried out after receiving information indicating their alleged involvement in activities considered detrimental to the security of the Union Territory.
In recent years, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has stepped up vigilance within government departments, invoking relevant service provisions to remove employees accused of links with militancy or anti-national activities, as part of wider security and counter-terrorism measures.
