Instant bill payments & more: Jammu’s new electricity app offers 10 key services

JAMMU: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation limited has introduced a new version of its electricity services app, Bill Suvidha, specifically designed for consumers in the Jammu division.

This upgraded version follows the earlier Bill Sahuliya app and offers around ten essential services, making it more convenient for users to manage their electricity-related tasks from home.

Through the Bill Suvidha App, consumers can access comprehensive information about their electricity connection, apply for a new connection, and even modify their load requirements. The app also allows users to request corrections in their bills.

Additionally, the application can be operated using a registered mobile number and email ID, ensuring seamless access to all its features.

One of the most significant advantages of this app is that consumers no longer need to visit electricity offices for information or service requests. Under the billing and payment section, users can check their current electricity bill, review billing details for the past five months, and track previously paid bills.

The app also provides details about electricity consumption and allows users to apply for a new connection directly from their smartphones.

Moreover, any documents printed from the app will be officially recognized by the Electricity Corporation, making them valid for use in government-related work. This feature ensures that consumers have easy access to official records without the hassle of visiting physical offices.

The Billing and Payment Service section of the app includes multiple features, such as viewing bill receipts and making instant bill payments. To access these, the consumer needs to enter their unique consumer number and registered mobile number. The app will then display the latest bill details, including the total amount due and the last payment date.

Consumers can download their bills by selecting the ‘Download Bill’ option. Once the bill is displayed, they can proceed to the ‘Pay Bill’ section, where a secure payment window opens. After entering the necessary bank details, the transaction is completed, and a receipt is generated for download.

In case of grievances, the app eliminates the need for consumers to visit the concerned electricity division office or navigate multiple counters. A dedicated complaint registration facility is integrated within the app, allowing users to lodge complaints effortlessly.

Consumers can also track the progress of their complaints in real time. The app provides updates regarding the actions taken by the electricity department and notifies consumers when their issues are resolved.

With the introduction of the Bill Suvidha App, Jammu Electricity Distribution Corporation aims to enhance customer convenience, promote digital accessibility, and streamline electricity-related services for consumers. The app ensures transparency, efficiency, and ease of use, making it a valuable tool for electricity management in the Jammu division.
