Jammu: The 556th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm, devotion, and communal harmony across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
In Jammu, devotees thronged various Gurudwaras since early morning to offer prayers and take part in special kirtans and langar sevas. The main congregation in the city was held at Maharani Chand Kaur Gurudwara, where hundreds of devotees gathered to pay obeisance and participate in religious ceremonies.
The Gurudwara was beautifully decorated with lights and flowers to mark the auspicious occasion. Devotional hymns reverberated through the air as devotees listened to kirtans highlighting Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of peace, equality, and selfless service.
Langar was served throughout the day, reflecting the Sikh tradition of community service and universal brotherhood. Members of various social and religious organisations also participated in the celebrations, extending greetings to the Sikh community.
Similar celebrations were held at Gurudwara Chhati Padshahi in Srinagar and other parts of the Union Territory, where senior officers from the administration and police visited to offer prayers and extend greetings.
The day-long festivities concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and harmony in the region.
