OCT 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the NC Government is at forefront with unwavering efforts for reinstatement of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir towards which BJP Government has shown indifference.
While speaking to reporters in Kulgam, CM Omar Abdullah said that Statehood restoration was commitment of the Government and should have been fulfilled as of now. “We expressed strong desire for the restoration of the Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and we don’t know where Central Government is showing relentless apathy towards its restoration. Only they (BJP Government) knows. But NC’s battle to reinstate will persist.”
CM Omar said all the promises made on the pretext of bi-annual Darbar Move revival have fulfilled.
CM said, “I have said this right from the first day that in UT whatever promises have been made will be fulfilled timely. Darbar Move was one of the promises made by NC in its manifesto.”
On the issue of reservation, CM said that cabinet sub-committee led by Minister Sakeena Itoo was formed and it submitted its final report which has been approved. The cabinet memorandum will be sent to LG for approval.
CM Omar further added that the Government has not to wait for Assembly to address the concerns pertaining to farmers.
“We have taken stock of the damages caused to agricultural and horticulture crops and we are in touch with Centre for a comprehensive relief package,” CM said.
Answering a question posed by a reporter regarding revocation of FIRs registered during COVID restrictions, CM Omar replied that the law and order is not with the NC Government currently and once we get these powers, we will fulfill more promises.
On X, CM Omar Abdullah posted, “Chief Minister took a round of stalls set up by various departments at Kulgam, showcasing key Government schemes, public welfare initiatives, and achievements under flagship programmes. He interacted with officials and beneficiaries, appreciating the efforts towards ensuring citizen-centric governance and effective service delivery.”
