SAHIL BHAT
JULY 14: Breaking the barriers, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flanked by other senior members of National Conference climbed railing to enter Martyrs Graveyard and read ‘Fatiha’ at Shaheed Mazar in Srinagar, saying the graveyards of Martyrs prevail round the year and no one can thwart us from visiting it any time of the year.
While hurling barbs at the Central leadership for house arresting the leaders, CM Omar Abdullah said that this is really unfortunate that the people who would themselves claim that they are responsible for only security and law and order take laws unnecessarily in their hands.
“When I expressed desire to read Fariha bunkers were put up,” said CM Omar, adding, “Today, I did not let them know and see their level of frustration, they tried to stop me today as well.”
Omar highlighted that they tried to manhandle him and his colleagues, adding that, the Police often forget laws.
CM Omar questioned, “Why was his visit thwarted today?”
If they think that NC is their slave, they are wrong as we are slaves of only people here, said CM Omar, adding will visit whenever we will feel like.
