22 JKAS Officers transferred in major administrative Reshuffle. Details inside

Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the transfer and posting of 22 JKAS officers in a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at optimizing governance and efficiency.

Key appointments include Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Shah, who has been transferred from Director, Handloom and Handicrafts, Kashmir, to Managing Director, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited. Dr. Ghulam Nabi Itoo has been moved from Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, to Director, School Education, Kashmir.

In another notable change, Vikas Gupta has been appointed as Director, Tourism, Jammu, while Ms. Kanta Devi takes charge as Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Jammu. Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah has been assigned as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission.

The reshuffle also saw Mr. Mussarat-ul-Islam and Mr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir exchanging roles between Managing Director, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, and Special Secretary to the Government, ARI and Trainings Department, respectively.

Mr. Bhawani Rakwal, JKAS, currently serving as Transport Commissioner, J&K, has been transferred and directed to await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department. Meanwhile, Mr. Vishesh Paul Mahajan, JKAS, who was previously under orders of transfer as Director, Tourism, Jammu, per Government Order No. 2014-JK(GAD) of 2024 dated December 1, 2024, has now been posted as the new Transport Commissioner, J&K.

Here is the list of all 22 JKAS officers who have been transferred as part of the latest administrative reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir:

  6. Mr. Vikas Gupta – Transferred from Special Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, to Director, Tourism, Jammu.
  7. Ms. Kanta Devi – Appointed as Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (ex-officio Settlement Officer), Jammu.
  8. Syed Qamar Sajad – Transferred from Additional District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, to Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation.
  9. Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah – Appointed as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission.
  10. Ms. Anju Gupta – Transferred from Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Jammu, to Special Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department.
  11. Mr. Tassaduq Hussain Mir – Transferred from Director, School Education, Kashmir, to Special Secretary, ARI and Trainings Department.
  12. Mr. Parveez Ahmad Raina – Moved from Member, J&K Special Tribunal (Srinagar Bench), to Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Administration & Enforcement), Kashmir.
  13. Mr. Soheel Noor Shah – Transferred from Additional Secretary, Tourism Department, to Additional Secretary, Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment.
  14. Mr. Masarat Hashim – Transferred from Programme Officer, ICDS Project, Pulwama, to Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Pahalgam.
  15. Mr. Qazi Irfan Rasool Zargar – Appointed as Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, from Registrar-cum-Controller of Examinations, SKIMS, Srinagar.
  16. Mr. Mohammad Aslam – Transferred to Registrar-cum-Controller of Examinations, SKIMS, Srinagar, from Joint Director, Information, Kashmir.
  17. Mr. Vivek Modi – Transferred from Director, Land Management, Jammu Development Authority, to Additional Secretary, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Department.
  18. Mr. Tariq Hussain – Moved from Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Pahalgam, to Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Gulmarg.
  19. Mr. Garbi Rashid – Transferred from Additional Secretary, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Department, to Director, Land Management, Jammu Development Authority.
  20. Syed Shahnawaz – Transferred from Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir, to Joint Director, Information, Kashmir.
