Jammu, October 10: YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was reportedly taken into custody by Delhi Police on Saturday from his residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, ahead of a planned protest by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, according to police sources.
Sources said Rathee had arrived to participate in the protest, prompting heightened security arrangements across the national capital.
Earlier in the week, Delhi Police had refused permission for the demonstration, citing security concerns and procedural requirements.
Police have reportedly begun taking protesters into preventive custody at various locations to prevent them from reaching the protest site. Personnel have also been deployed at key locations across the city.
Approximately 150 protesters have been taken into custody from different parts of New Delhi so far, according to reports.
