APRIL 14: National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah said that the Waqf Amendment Bill undemocratic setup and is against the Constitution of India and infringes rights of Muslim community.
Dr Farooq Abdullah added that J&K Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather made a good decision of not allowing the discussion on the bill because the matter is still hanging in the Supreme Court and we will talk about it after the Supreme Court decision.
On the J&K government’s performance in the last six months, National Conference president said that we stand firm on promises made by us. He said ask after five years what all have we (NC) done. About restoration of Statehood, he said BJP is responsible for this.
In view of Saudi Arabia slashing private Hajj quota, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that he will appeal Prime Minister to speak with the leaders of Saudi Arabia and urge them not to reduce the quota.
