New Delhi,June 12: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting in the national capital to assess preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, with a focus on security arrangements, coordination among agencies, and facilities for pilgrims.
The meeting was attended by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and the Directors General of the CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, among other senior officials.
During the review, officials discussed measures to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the annual pilgrimage, including deployment plans, surveillance mechanisms, emergency response systems, and logistical support for devotees.
The Amarnath Yatra 2026 is scheduled to commence on July 3 and conclude on August 28, with authorities working to ensure a safe and hassle-free experience for pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
